Did you know that there are four main types of yoga, and it goes way beyond Hatha (the one we all know of, with the poses)? Many of them deal with the mind and other things.
Karma Yoga which focuses on service
Bhakti Yoga which focuses on love and devotion
Jnana Yoga which focuses on self-inquiry and introspection
and Raja Yoga, which focuses on mental control
Each person is advised to choose a path that speaks to their nature:
Karma for the selfless outgoing kind
Bhakti for the emotional ones who thrive on affairs of the heart
Jnana for the intellectual
Raja for those wishing to display king-like assurance and superior ruling of the mental state
All of it is interchangeable, like most effective principles, and i think it’s amazing. There are some easy Googles you can do to get a great gist of it.
sn: In your exploration you will most likely come across mention of The Bhagavad Gita. It’s pretty much the Hindu bible. If you read it, make sure that it has :: (as it is):: in its title.
Happy mind stretching!
